BOLD needs Volunteer Teachers

BOLD has organized Holiday Literacy Camps every year, since 2008, to help children with reading difficulties. This year’s Holiday Literacy Camp will run from 25 November to 6 December.

BOLD needs volunteers who will be prepared to teach for two weeks, Monday to Friday. During these two weeks, classes for children learning to read in Mandarin will be in the mornings (9 am to 12 pm) while classes in Malay will be in the afternoons (2 pm to 4.30 pm).

To prepare you for the camp, our specialist consultant will offer training in:-
• Multi-sensory methods to teach children with reading difficulties
• Kinesthetic exercises to stimulate learning processes

Training will be held at BOLD’s Activity Centre in Minden Heights on:-
16 September and 28 October for teachers of Mandarin and Malay respectively.
